Type locality: Fernando Po (= Bioko), Equatorial Guinea

Diagnosis

Male is similar to P. selysi by (a) posterior hamule slender, its posterior border almost straight; (b) S4-6 with pairs of yellow basal spots; (c) cerci about 2x as long as epiproct; (d) apices of cerci slender and pointed (dorsal view). However, differs by (1) ranging from C DRC to Cameroon; (2) inner branch of anterior hamule shorter than outer; (3) S10 humped, basal part of dorsal ridge abruptly arched; (4) cerci with pointed ventral tooth. Habitat description

Rivers and streams shaded by forest, but sometimes in open areas in forest. Often with a gravelly, sandy and/or probably soft (like muddy) bottom. From 0 to 700 m above sea level, but possibly higher up.

confirmed: Cameroon; Central African Republic; Congo-Brazzaville; Democratic Republic of the Congo; Equatorial Guinea; Gabon
