Diagnosis
Male is similar to A. marshalli by (a) head black posterior to antennae; (b) labrum all blue; (c) dorsum of middle lobe of prothorax largely black; (d) dorsum of S4-5 largely or entirely black; (e) S9-10 marked with blue; (f) appendages all black; (g) cerci (slightly) shorter than paraprocts. However, differs by (1) ranging from W Uganda and W Tanzania to C DRC; (2) blue on frons extends to anterior ocellus; (3) middle lobe of prothorax dorsally black, rather than with dorsally blue spots; (4) S8 at most with small dorsal blue spot, S3-7 dorsally all black. Habitat description
Mostly headwaters, but also larger streams, shaded by forest. Probably often with coarse detritus and a gravelly and/or sandy bottom. From 400 to 1900 m above sea level.
